Künstler-Statement:
I want to understand and to order the conditions, reasons and forms of my existence within my environment. So take a view on a river with a smooth surface in tones of dark blue and black. Emerging from this are hundreds of round, luminous and layered plants. They have an opening to the inside of leaves. Lungs in a thousand shimmering shades. Dots from green to flesh-coloured. Every shape is different, but each could fit with the other. A labyrinth of colours, similarities and polarity. Sometimes the link to the root system appears. A stem which ends in the invisible darkness. What does the underside of the water-lilies look like? The surface of the roots? Is it like a net? A place of unpredictable encounter? This moment and setting characterizes the restless recognition of transfers and gaps between unawared states of the inside and the outside. A space of invisible conections. A rhizomatique room of chance and control and possibilities where unknown can be turned into the known, where dots can be connected. To create a room with the potential to make things visible and the possibility to make experience mentally and physically tangible is important for my work. It is amazing how an image manifests itself on paper. The object meets the eye and by this a meaning is released. I arrange images as an open associative cluster. The same pictures are used more than once. They appear in different sizes, in colour and in black in white, and in different constellations by shifting the context. I am a practical thinker. I think about things through seeing and perceiving. As a base, there is a matrix of constant background noise. Social interactions, studies, reading, consuming art, listening to the radio and watching movies, everything matters. Out of this, there is something which needs to be expressed. On the one hand, it comes from a visceral, gut feeling, and on the other hand there is a strategic concept. In the next step, I want to sharpen the content. I look at existing pictures and start to dig deeper into a topic. I ask myself, what is there? What can I add? Then I start. I locate specific places, create new pictures, or re-enact studies. I am fascinated by the inextricability and complexity of millions of individual actions and appearances by humans and nature that shape the surface. With my camera, I feel deliberate and embrace these aspects.Within exhibiting art, I combine things spatial and temporal, real and imaginary, textural and sensual.
